In 2015 Informatics designed and built one of the largest, state-of-the-art Data Centre in the Caribbean and Latin America. The company owns and manages this facility, which also houses its Sales, Technical, NOC and Administrative operations. It is the first Data Center facility that has installed a Hypoxic Fire Prevention system in this part of the world.

FirePASS Fire Prevention and Suppression Systems

In 2015 Informatics installed in its Data Center, the FirePASS Fire Prevention and Suppression Systems-- a revolutionary hypoxic fire prevention technology that is designed to prevent fire from occurring by reducing and maintaining oxygen at noncombustible levels.

FirePASS has the unique ability to create an environment of breathable, controlled oxygen-reduced air that prevents fire ignition. FirePASS prevents fires proactively, thus eliminating damage and business interruption that occurs when suppressing a fire that has already started. This system is the first to be used in this part of the world and is operational in our own Data Center facilities. Informatics has now been appointed the Authorised Distributor for the region.

Co-Location Facilities

IIn June 2015, Informatics commissioned its own built-for-purpose Data Center co-location facility in central Trinidad, with Digicel-Trinidad taking up the entire phase 1 of the Data Center consisting of 46 Racks utilizing a minimum of 0 kW to 9 kW of power each.

The Data Center is built to Tier 3 standards with redundant Symmetra PX250 UPS, redundant 300 kW Generator with dual power feeds and three Carrier chilled-water chillers to ensure 99.98% availability with concurrent maintenance and continuous environmental monitoring.

The Data Center facility was designed, built, outfitted, and commissioned by the Informatics Team supported by Schneider Electric and is monitored 24/7 by our in-house NOC Team.

We currently offer these Data Center services (design, build, and monitor) to all our clients in the Caribbean.
